हैदराबाद के उर्दू शिक्षक इमरान को जुलाई में ट्रैफिक नियम तोड़ने के एवज में ई-चालान भेजा गया। उन्हें 1035 रुपए जुर्माना भरने को कहा गया। चालान में वो बिना हेलमेट के मोटरसाइकिल पर दिखाई दिए। पर चालान में दिए विवरण से पता चला कि जुर्माना हेलमेट को लेकर नहीं, बल्कि फेस मास्क नहीं पहनने पर लगाया गया था।

इमरान जैसे 15 हजार लोगों को इस आईटी सिटी में मास्क नहीं पहनने पर जुर्माना देना पड़ा है। इनमें ज्यादातर सीसीटीवी के जरिए ही पकड़ में आए। तेलंगाना की राजधानी शहर के सर्विलांस सिस्टम का इस्तेमाल अब कोरोना को नियंत्रित करने में भी कर रही है।

हैदराबाद देश का प्रमुख टेक्नोलॉजी हब है। लिहाजा शहर की सुरक्षा में भी टेक्नोलॉजी का भरपूर इस्तेमाल किया गया है। पूरे शहर में 5 लाख सीसीटीवी कैमरा लगाए गए हैं, इसलिए यह देश का सबसे ज्यादा सर्विलांस वाला शहर बन गया है, वहीं दिल्ली में महज पांच हजार सीसीटीवी कैमरा लगाए गए हैं, जबकि यहां पर हैदराबाद की तुलना में तीन गुना ज्यादा लोग रहते हैं।

हैदराबाद प्रशासन का कहना है कि इस उपाय से महामारी के दौरान लोगों को सुरक्षित रखने में बड़ी मदद मिली। जुलाई तक राज्य में 80 हजार कोरोना मरीज थे, वहीं 637 मौतें हुईं। तेलंगाना पुलिस के आईटी विभाग के डिप्टी सुप्रीटेंडेंड श्रीनाथ रेड्‌डी के मुताबिक, शहर में औसत 20 लोगों पर एक कैमरा है, इससे 95% लोगों को मास्क पहनना सुनिश्चित करा सके। हालांकि, बड़े स्तर पर इस सर्विलांस की आलोचना भी हो रही है। एक नागरिक घर पहुंचते-पहुंचते 50 कैमरों में कैद हो चुका हो जाता है।
