बुश प्रशासन में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाने वाले एक अधिकारी ने कहा कि जिस रिपब्लिकन पार्टी को मैं जानता था, वो अब मौजूद नहीं है. मैं इसे ट्रंप का कल्ट कहता हूं. एक अन्य अधिकारी ने कहा कि 60-70 पूर्व अधिकारियों ने पार्टी का साथ छोड़ दिया है और ये संख्या लगातार बढ़ती जा रही है.
